Coaches,

 

Based on the forecast, rain will be stopping at approx. 8am….and be clear the rest of the morning/afternoon.

 

WE WILL NEED TO DELAY….but the meet will happen. The issues are grass parking lot drainage & running course drainage for fair competition.

 

WE WILL COMBINE THE JV RUNNERS INTO THE VARSITY RACES. So there will be no limit of 7 at the varsity race starting line….all runners will start the races. This will help the teams with JV athletes to still have most of the afternoon to get home and enjoy the evening.

 

Our first race WAS scheduled for 9am. Currently, we are going to shoot for an 11:00am start.

We had planned to be finished at 12:45pm….instead we will be finished at about 2:15pm

 

The new schedule of races will be something like this:

Gold Girls Varsity & JV together– 11am

Gold Boys Varsity & JV together– 11:45am  

(GOLD teams with JV runners actually get finished EARLIER in the day than they would have)

 

Silver Girls Varsity & JV together – 1pm

Silver Girls Varsity & JV together – 1:45pm

(SILVER teams with JV runners only finish 90 minutes delayed)

 

This will also somewhat allow for the limited bus space & parking to open between events Gold & Silver divisions.

 

Our main concern is the amount of water in the parking lots and scouting the course…so part of the delay is to get an understanding at daylight of the condition and amount of spaces on solid ground. We need to go slowly with parking to avoid damage to the park. We want to make sure cars make their way safely into the lots.

 

BUSSES will probably end up being directed to an alternate location. We suggest that you have the cellphone number of the busdriver in case they need to drop your team off and then find a place to safely park until called back to pick your team up.

 

We hate the inconvenience but hope it will allow for a fun competition.
